Have been editing bits and pieces of field recording materials. Not that passionate recording it was, just with my phone. I had been thinking the birds in Berlin are so loud, even louder than the ones in London. When I first sat down in Hyde Park I was hearing birds alongside the music through my headphones. Thought "this is where the music came from, couldn't have been Tokyo..." I was listening to the Beatles, so yeah. But here, they are really loud. Like someone said, they can be heard louder...

Wrote 2 songs for the album. One is about being left. I wrote it last month, before I got to know the sad news from my mate. The other one is about leaving; for the occasion I need to tell my friends how well I'm doing. Funny I wrote it when I was being left, and the experience made me realise that I always had been the one to leave and how it feels to be left.

The lake had frozen. People were taking a walk on the ice or ice skating. I'd been wondering why there was an ice skating shoes store around the corner, now I see. I slowly stepped on the lake in my boots and spun. It was easy. Filmed what I saw with my phone to make music to it. It was fun. On one slow afternoon in Berlin.

On one of those snowy days in Berlin, I took a video on my phone and tried out the latest software I bought, imagining the reason the girl stood there for a while for. Thanks to Daniel Halliday for playing the Cello.
